Description: Let’s use the Mountains-to-Sea Trail in Ashe and Wilkes counties between Jumpinoff Rock and Jeffress Park to do a 13 mile and 2700 feet hike with refreshing altitude and views. This one-way car drop-off hike paralleling the Blue Ridge Parkway offers a short detour to the Lump along the way. Depending on the preferences of those who sign up, we may be able to offer a 10 mile and 2200 ft version. If interested, contact me by 4 PM on Friday July 29 with preferred hike to allow time to arrange carpooling and possible hike options. The final follow-up with transportation arrangements for the car drop-off will be shortly after 8:00 p.m. [R-40] or [R-32].
