Description: Several of us PHOC hike leaders love this hike so much that we take turn offering it every season. It never disappoints. And perhaps the gods will send a last gasp of winter our way, covering the rhododendrons, engorged with fat buds impatiently waiting for their moment of glory, with a soft white blanket. And along the trail, we may be able to glimpse ferns and running cedar peeking from underneath the snow. A girl can dream. We will enjoy a lunch break in open terrain surrounded by peaks bathed in the blue mist of our beautiful mountains. The hike starts at milepost 234 on the Parkway and loops around Scott Ridge. It is a benign experience: two or three long but gentle ascents and one short moderately steep ascent. In other words, it is a hike where you can relax and enjoy the ride. NOTE: I will send a confirming email to all participants by 6:00 pm on the day before the hike (Friday). So please register online NO LATER THAN 12:00 PM. that day.
