Description: This loop hike will begin at the Backpackers Parking Lot at Stone Mountain SP. We will follow the Mountains-to-the-Sea Trail (MST) to the Wolf Rock Trail, with a stop to enjoy the views from Wolf Rock, along the Black Jack Ridge Trail, and thence down an old, unmaintained trail to the Bridle Out-and-Back Trail. From there the hike will go to Lower Falls and the Stone Mountain Loop Trail. Along the way we will visit an old still and make three stream crossings. On the Stone Mountain Loop Trail we will visit the Hutchinson Homestead. The last leg of the hike will be up the Wolf Rock Trail to the MST and back to the cars. This is a moderate, scenic, lengthy hike: distance 11 miles, elevation gain 1,400 feet.
