Pilot Creek Hike and Pilot Mountain Vineyards

Description: Moderately easy 8-mile hike along the lower portions of Pilot Mountain State Park. We will go 3.6 miles along the undulating Pilot Creek Trail to the Grindstone Trail for ½ mile to enjoy a snack at the old visitor station. After our snack we will retrace our steps back to the trailhead. For those interested in an after-hike outing can join me a Pilot Mountain Vineyard for wine, music and food truck. Take exit 134, at the roundabout go west on NC268 for 0.2 miles. Turn left on Shoals Road and then turn left on Boyd Nelson Road Trailhead parking will be on the left.
