Description: We will travel to Damascus, Virginia, to ride bicycles up and down the Virginia Creeper Trail to Whitetop Station, Virginia. Thin road-bike tires will not be adequate—only hybrid or mountain-bike tires. The distance is about 17 miles each way. This is said to be the most beautiful rail trail in the country. The ride up to Whitetop Station (about 2,000 feet elevation gain) will be slower than the easy ride back downhill to Damascus.
