Description: We will begin the hike at the Rocky Knob Visitor Center parking lot on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is about a 2-hour drive from the Triad. The trail is a loop hike over Grassy Knob, down into Rock Castle Gorge, back up to the Parkway, over Rocky Knob, and thence back to the parking lot. Distance 11 miles; 2,000 feet elevation gain; R32 difficulty. Register online or e-mail Vance Barron by Thursday night before the hike if you plan to go.
