Black Mountain Crest Trail - Redirected (24)
Created on: 03/13/2023
We set out on Saturday to do the Black Mountain Crest trail, but as we arrived just at the gates, the ranger was closing them. Great clouds of snow rolled over the barreling mountain tops. Since we could not go over the mountain, we went to the bottom to go up it.
Led by our tireless activity leader, Vance Barron (79 years old) whose boundless energy led us to the foot of Mt Mitchell, I made this 12.9 mile trek and climbed these 3770 feet of elevation again for the second time in 60 days.
Special thanks and credit to Ning Li for her photo contributions here.
