Description:
Let’s celebrate the arrival of glorious fall leaves with a Saturday hike on the Boone Fork Trail at Price Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This beautiful 5 mile loop trail is a club favorite in the spring, summer, and fall. Although this trail is not overly strenuous with a few uphills & elevation gain of approximately 500’, plan on this being a 3 hour hike. It will be a good workout as we will encounter numerous stream crossings, roots & rocks, and muddy paths through rhododendron tunnels, as well as, the opportunity to climb a few ladders. This is considered to be an easy-to-moderate hike for experienced hikers. Plan on bringing poles, water, a few snacks and wearing appropriate/sturdy footwear. After the hike, there will be the option to stop for ice cream in Blowing Rock at Kilwin’s. Call or email for details about the Meet-up time and carpooling. 5 mile, ~500 ft, (R-11)
