Description: Let’s go to Raven Rock State Park (located a few miles west of Lillington) for 10.5 miles of pleasant hiking on trails that are mostly streamside and have no long hard ups or downs. There are also views of the Cape Fear River in several places especially at Raven Rock. We will hike 10.5 miles on trails that are rated easy to moderate with a total elevation/ loss of 1,000 feet. If there is interest we can add an extra mile of hiking and visit the fish traps which will increase the elevation gain by around 120 feet. Please meet me in the Raven Rock Visitor’s Center parking lot at 9:30 if you are not interested in a carpool. For the carpool meet me and be ready to leave at 7:45 in the parking lot of Save A Lot located at 3111 Yanceyville Street in Greensboro (this is near the corner of Yanceyville and Cone Blvd). 10.5 miles, 1000 ft elev.
