From there we will hike to the Iron Mountain Trail, follow it to the AT, loop through Grayson Highlands and Mount Rogers, cross Whitetop Mountain, and follow the AT as it parallels the Whitetop Laurel Branch back to Straight Branch parking area. E-mail or call Vance Barron for a detailed itinerary with daily mileages and campsites. A bearproof food canister will be necessary. Be prepared for variable weather. R40.
