Description: We will drive to the Rock Jock Trailhead on Old NC 105 (a rough dirt road, also known as the Kistler Memorial Highway). The trail drops below the rim of Linville Gorge and follows the contour on the Rock Jock Trail to reach the Conley Cove Trail, which drops down to the Linville Gorge Trail along the Linville River. We will hike downstream to reach the Pinch-in Trail, which very steeply climbs back to the Kistler Memorial Highway. Distance 9.7 miles; 2,200 feet elevation gain; R35 because of rough terrain. Register online or e-mail Vance Barron by Thursday night before the hike if you plan to go. NOTE: Because this is a wilderness area, there is a 10-person limit on participants.
