Tompkins Overlook to Park Vista and Back

Description: We will hike north on the MST from Tompkins Knob Overlook (BRP milepost 272.5) to the Park Vista Road. We will hike past an old house and church from the 1800’s and through E.B Jeffress Park with an opportunity to view the Cascades waterfall. We will enjoy all the views of the Blue Ridge escarpment for the entire hike. The lunch stop will be along the Blue Ridge Parkway at Park Vista Road. After lunch we will return the way we came. 10.5 miles, 1,800 feet of elevation gain, R-29 (Moderate).
