Horne Creek Loop and Corridor trails -- CHANGED FROM PREVIOUS VENUE

Difficulty: R-26, Moderate Description: Addendum: Note hike leader and venue change. Due to the near impossibility to reasonably access almost all of our familiar trailheads off the Blue Ridge Parkway, this hike venue has been changed. I am proposing a two-option hike in the Pilot Mountain trail system that our club does not often do, with Bob Alsup and Erwin Hoadley, who are very familiar with the area, as co-leaders. The first hike will be a 5-mile walk on the Horne Creek Loop trail, which will take us back to the trailhead. We will then walk for 3 to 5 miles on the Corridor Trail. Since both parts of the hike will start and end at the same trailhead, you can decide on the spot whether you want to do the 5-mile hike or the 10-mile one. This is an easy to moderate hike, with beautiful views of the Yadkin River on the first loop. Please register by NOON Friday January 17 for meeting times and carpooling information.
