Description: (The hike has been changed because the Profile Trail is still closed.) This is an out-and-back hike to McRae Peak on Grandfather Mountain. The hike will begin at the Boone Fork Parking Area and follow the Daniel Boone Scout Trail to the Grandfather Trail, and continue past The Chute to McRae Peak. This is a strenuous hike which will involve some scrambling and ladder climbing. If conditions are too icy, the hike will turn around at the Attic Window before descending The Chute.
