Description: Indian Creek is a beautiful wooded hike with several stream crossings early in the hike. We will start at the parking lot at the end of Flinchum Road in Danbury NC, just past the Dan River Company kayak and canoe rental and Green Heron Ale House. We will gently ascend to Hidden and Window Falls and a moderate climb to the visitor’s center at Hanging Rock. 7.2 miles/+/- 1000 feet [R-18]. Poles are recommended, as are waterproof shoes if you have them (stream crossings are shallow unless we’ve had a lot of recent rain). For those who would like, an additional 1.5 mile loop around the River Bluff Trail offers a beautiful view of the rock bluffs above the Dan River. 7.2 Please email me if you are interested by Friday noon.
