Mountain Trail to Grindstone and Summit Trails

Description: Meet me at Pilot Mountain State Park for an 11-mile, 1800-foot route that will begin on the Mountain trail and will ascend and descend Pilot Mountain on Grindstone trail and will include Pilot Knob trail in the summit area. We will enjoy a lunch with a view just off the Knob Trail if weather cooperates or at a sheltered spot next to Big Pinnacle if it does not. The gathering in the park will be at the Visitor Center in time to be on the trail at 9:00 AM. Carpooling will be available at Carolina’s Diner in Greensboro on Regional Rd. If you are interested in carpooling please sign up by noon on Friday. I will set up carpooling on Friday afternoon. 11 miles, 1800 ft elev. [R-29]
