Description: This is perhaps our 16th club trip to this magical place. The trip is appropriate for novice paddlers and up. A group campsite has already been reserved Travel on Friday to Merchants Millpond SP a 760 acre millpond and swamp environment that is 4 hrs from Greensboro . Paddle and set up camp on group camping island. Saturday paddle 7 miles roundtrip to ancient cypress tree, largest in NC. Pot luck dinner in camp Saturday night. Sunday, pack up and return to boat ramp then paddle 6 miles on Bennetts Creek to Gatesville. Eat dinner in Murfreesboro on the way home. Contact Joel Deaton for more details.
