Description: Join me on a hike across my favorite park as the June flowers are in full bloom and the vistas are beautiful. I plan to hike from the Alligator Back overlook to Brinegar Cabin as an out and back hike (Blue Ridge Parkway mp 342.5 to mp238.5). Please note: there is ongoing construction along the Blue Ridge Parkway and you can only access doughton park by driving up North Carolina 18 from Wilkesboro to the parkway. The parkway is closed north of Brinegar Cabin still as far as I know. It is open south of Highway 18 to Highway 16. If there is time and interest, we can also check out The Bluffs Restaurant for refreshments post hike.
