Description:
We will head back to Natural Bridge Station, VA for adventures open to all club members. Camping at Hopper Creek Group Campsite on Friday, and Saturday night. The site will accommodate 25 campers and 8 vehicles and includes amenities of picnic tables, BBQ grills, fire rings, bear-proof trash disposal and a vault toilet, but no potable water. The camping fee is $48 which we will split. Tents only, no RV’s. Limited parking so carpooling needed. On Saturday we will paddle the James River with class I and II rapids for approximately 6 hours. The section will depend on water levels. On Sunday, some may do the 3 miles from Glasgow to Snowden which includes class III Balcony Falls. For those who would like to camp and hike but not paddle, our site is a short distance from Apple Orchard Falls, the AT, Devil’s Marbleyard and other foot trails, as well as Cave Mountain Lake and Natural Bridge Park. Please contact me by email for further information. 7 miles.
