Description: Join me for a slightly different walk. Let’s meet at the tennis courts at Lake Daniel Park in Greensboro. Lake Daniel Park is located at 410 Mimosa Drive, off Benjamin Parkway. We will walk the new Downtown Greenway starting at the Tennis courts. This paved greenway meanders along a portion of an old rail bed. It passes under Friendly Avenue, crossing West Market St, adjacent to Greensboro College and the College Hill Neighborhood. The greenway crosses Gate City Blvd twice, parallels Murrow Blvd and Fisher Avenue before looping by the baseball stadium. Along the way are various historical markers, pictures, plaques, and small “parks”. The total distance is around 6 miles. We will take this at a more leisurely pace since there are some interesting points of interest along the way. Bring water and snacks.
