Description: This bike ride on the New River Trail will begin in Galax, VA at the New River State Park (Galax Access) on US 58. The address is 212 E Stuart Drive, Galax, VA 24333. We will ride from Galax to Fries, a distance of around 17-17.5 miles one way, and return to the cars by the same route. The total mileage is around 34 -35 miles. The trail surface is gravel, so hybrid or mountain bikes are necessary. Road bikes are not suitable. Please bring 1-2 spare bike tubes. Riders are responsible for arranging transport of themselves and bikes. There is a $7.00 parking fee. Please e mail Ruth by Tuesday August 10 if you plan on participating.
