Description: Cooler altitudes will be very attractive by late August. These hikes on the Appalachian Trail along the border of NC and TN have fantastic views going either direction. One group will start from Hwy 19E and hike 15 miles south to Carvers Gap climbing 5,300 feet. The other group hikes north from Carvers Gap covering the same 15 miles and climbing 2,600 feet. Both groups will meet for lunch and exchange keys. This hike is for fit and experienced hikers only. Email me for further information, meeting times and places prior to noon Friday before the hike.
