Description: Let's enjoy a Saturday morning hike near Blowing Rock, NC, on the Boone Fork Trail at Price Park off the Blue Ridge Parkway, Milepost 296.4. This is one of my favorite hikes in the spring, summer and fall. Although the trail is not overly strenuous with just a few uphill sections and gains of about 500' in elevation, plan on this being at least a 3 hour hike. With numerous stream crossings, rocks, roots, and muddy paths through rhododendron tunnels, there will also be opportunities to climb wooden steps, a few boulders and ladders. This is considered an easy-to moderate hike for EXPERIENCED hikers and not a walk in the park. Bring trekking poles, water, a few snacks, and wear sturdy/appropriate foot wear. Our feet will likely get wet and possibly muddy. After the hike, there will be an option to stop for ice cream in Blowing Rock at Kilwin's. Call or email for details about the meet up time and carpooling. R-11
