New River Blacksburg Paddle

Description: Please join me for paddling on a scenic and entertaining section of the New River near Blacksburg, VA. This trip is intended for novice and above paddlers comfortable on Class II whitewater. On Friday, those able to arrive early afternoon will take a short hike in the area (location TBD). On Saturday we will paddle from New River Junction Campground to Pembroke Boat Ramp (8.5 miles, 5 hrs, Class I-II). On Sunday we will do the next section of the river, Pembroke to Bluff City (Pearisburg) (9.5 miles, 5 hrs, Class I-II). The river is about 2.5 hours from Greensboro so you are welcome to join as a day trip or for the entire experience.
