Description: Join me for a strenuous hike up Graybeard trail in Montreat up to Graybeard Mountain, with a brief stop at Walker's Knob for the view. After lunching precariously perched on rocks atop Graybeard Mountain, we will descend via the West Ridge Trail, turning left onto Big Piney Ridge Trail, then left again onto Lower Piney Trail. The hike will begin and end at the Anderson Parking Lot near Montreat College, due to limited trailhead parking. This adds 1 mile each way to the hike, making the total distance approximately 12 miles with 3,000 feet of elevation. This is a strenuous hike with a relatively fast pace over rocky, rooty terrain. Please no dogs due to pace/terrain.
