Description: This 5 mile one-way hike will begin on the Stuart & Emma Thomas Memorial Trail. If you've never been there, I think you'll be quite surprised by the 100 acre farm in the middle of Winston-Salem and the uphill trail through the woods along Peters Creek. Coming off the trail, the next section will go through Winston's historic Boston neighborhood and then past the large Arbor Acres senior living community. Next the hike will proceed onto the Reynolda estate, following the perimeter trail through the woods along the west side to the Reynolda boat house. From there we'll follow a walking path across the small waterfall on Silas Creek and on to the Wake Forest campus where we'll make a short loop past the physics lab, library and fine arts center before returning along the walking path to finish at Reynolda Gardens. Meet at the trailhead parking lot by 12:45 PM to shuttle cars to Reynolda Gardens. The trailhead address is 1215 Reynolda Road. Enter the Crossnore Farm road and then turn right into the small parking lot. If you don't shuttle your car and wish to walk from Reynolda Gardens back to the starting point, it is 1.5 miles down Reynolda Road but be aware that you'll need to walk on the edge of the road facing traffic.
